First off, a HUGE thanks to those who wished me a happy birthday yesterday! I had a great day!
Second, LJ featured the community "Bikes" on that spotlight on the front LJ page. INSTANTLY it was flooded by 9000 posts per day of people saying "Hai! I's a nOOb here! Lookie my bike!!!!!1111!!!! Isn't I kewl?" or alternatly "I saw this on the front page, and I thought about bicycles this one time....should I buy one?" followed by 6000 comments saying "if you spend less than $86000 on a bike it is crap and you will be SLLOOOOOWWWWW!!!! Not like me, I am super 1337 on my carbonfiber Lance Armstrong replica!!!"
Don't get me wrong, I am a bike nerd. I am also a computer and video game nerd, but the reason that I don't belong to any video game communities is the 60000 posts about "check out my 1337 box! It's teh hax!" or "I am the most 1337 gamer EVAR!" That shit pisses me off, and it pisses me off that it happened in Bikes, which used to be a fairly small, easygoing community about bikes, and riding bikes, and not about showing off how hardcore you are, or how much your bike cost!
In other news, my school thought that it would be fun if all of the nursing administration and half the nursing instructors all quit in the space of a month, the result being that we didn't have a medical/surgical nursing instructor until this last week, and so we didn't get our new schedules until yesterday (classes start on Monday). Gee, thats a good idea, doing that to 20 stressed out, generally high strung nursing students. Then the new director kept getting all pissy with us for leaving a bunch of panicked messages on her voice mail. Look here, bitch, I have KIDS I need to plan child care for! I can't just leave them in the shed, you know (I've tried, the cops were NOT amused).
Anyway, that is my rant(s) for the day. Resume your normal lives now... (as if anyone on my FL leads a "normal" life!)

Fuck blizzard. Fuck them right in the ear.

My husband's account has been permanently banned for "exploiting the world of warcraft economy." He has lots of gold because he plays the AH a lot*. Me, I have a little bit of gold because he has taught me some of what he knows about playing the AH.

However, now *I've* been banned too. Or temporarily suspended. Hard to tell. They both look similar on the Account Management page. The ban email they sent my husband says that an account can be banned for being associated with an account they think is naughty.

I say: you set up the game with an auction house. Auctions are about bidding, and extremely price-sensitive markets. If you didn't want an auction-based economy, you could have set up bartering or vendoring.

I also say: fuck you for banning me for asking a question.
